Special Needs Teacher
Our client school in Redbourn are looking for a Special Needs Teacher to join the team, teaching learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism & Complex Needs. This post is to suppot a Teacher who is absent for 2-3 months, with the opinion to go permanent, should you feel you are a good match for the school!
The ideal Special Needs Teacher will have an interest in teaching learners with additional needs and be creative and nurturing in their approach.
The school is a 6-18 SEN school and this role is to teach Year 10 & 11 students with the academic ability of year 5 & 6 . Class sizes are small, and the school provides dedicated support for new Teachers and TA's coming into the school.
*January Start*
Full Time: Monday – Friday.
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm.
Pay: Paid to scale.
As a Special Needs Teacher you will be required to:
- Plan and deliver creative and dynamic lessons to small classes.
- Work closely in a team with support staff and SEN students.
- Offer nurturing support for leaners whilst empowering the students to be independent.
- Help students develop life skills.
- Manage behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour.
- Prepare learning materials.
- Monitor learners progress and create reports.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status or NQTs
- Enhanced DBS - Child Only
- Be willing to meet with the Headteacher or have a trial day in the new year!
