KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

• Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis within KS2
• Assisting the teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
• Helping prepare and organise teaching materials and resources required for pupils requiring support
• Assisting with classroom management, maintaining discipline and promoting positive behaviour
• Providing feedback to the teacher on students' progress and behaviour
• Assisting in assessing and recording students' work and achievements
• Collaborating with other teaching assistants and school staff to support the overall educational goals
• Attending staff meetings and training sessions as required

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics
• Relevant experience working with children or young people
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
• Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks

Education:

• GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics
• Additional relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable

Experience:

• Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (preferably with SEN)
• Experience assisting teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students' learning

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of educational principles and learning strategies
• Familiarity with relevant teaching resources and materials
• Proficient in using basic computer applications and educational software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic classroom environment
