KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Duties:
- Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis within KS2
- Assisting the teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
- Helping prepare and organise teaching materials and resources required for pupils requiring support
- Assisting with classroom management, maintaining discipline and promoting positive behaviour
- Providing feedback to the teacher on students' progress and behaviour
- Assisting in assessing and recording students' work and achievements
- Collaborating with other teaching assistants and school staff to support the overall educational goals
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions as required
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics
- Relevant experience working with children or young people
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
Education:
- GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics
- Additional relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (preferably with SEN)
- Experience assisting teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students' learning
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of educational principles and learning strategies
- Familiarity with relevant teaching resources and materials
- Proficient in using basic computer applications and educational software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic classroom environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
