Job description

Sports Coach

Teaching Personnel re looking for a motivated and experienced sports coach to join a SEN school in the Trafford area, starting as soon as possible. In this exciting role you will be responsible for delivering and supporting Physical Education ( PE ) across Key Stage 3 and Key stage 4. This includes supervising PE lessons, helping students with practical activities, and ensuring their safety. Your will also be required to assist in the supervision of students in other subject areas. This position offers fantastic opportunities for those passionate about sport and education, and it allows you to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering PE lessons across both key stages where you will oversee PE sessions and ensure that students engage in activities that develop their physical fitness, teamwork, and sports management.
  • Support in other Subjects, while main focus will be on PE, you may be asked to cover other subjects and ensure that students stay on track with their learning.
  • Behaviour Management : Manage students behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Providing support for to students: assist students with their individual learning needs ensuring that all students feel supported and included in lessons.
  • Supervision of Activities: During practical activities, ensure the safety of all students and that instructions are followed correctly.

Ideal candidate

Experience –

  • Previously worked with students, ideally in a school setting with children aged 11-16 years.
  • Previous experience in delivering and supporting PE, not essential.
  • Passion for sport : A genuine enthusiasm for physical education and sport in order to inspire and motivate students.
  • Behaviour Management skills: The ability to manage classroom behaviour confidently and effectively ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • A passion for development through Education: A desire to work in education and support the development of young people.

Eligibility requirements

  • Right to work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: You will need an enhanced DBS certifercate, registered with the online update service, or willing to undergo a new DBS application.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
