SEN Specialist Teachers – Pontefract & Surrounding Areas

Are you a qualified teacher passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re looking for SEN Specialist Teachers to work across specialist provisions in Pontefract, Castleford, Featherstone, and Knottingley.

About the Role:

  • Work with pupils aged 5–16 who require tailored support outside of mainstream education.

  • Support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex medical conditions, and learning disabilities.

  • Deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs.

  • Promote confidence, resilience, and life skills in a supportive environment.

  • Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals to provide holistic education.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
✔ Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASC, or complex needs.
✔ A compassionate, adaptable, and resilient approach.
✔ Team Teach training or willingness to complete it (desirable).
✔ Access to transport is preferred, as this will increase the range of schools you can work in.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
