Job description

Position: Full-Time SEN Primary Teacher
Location: Lancashire (Primary SEN School)
Pay: Dependent on Skills and Experience
Start Date: September 2025

We are currently seeking an experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join a dedicated and supportive team at a highly regarded Primary SEN School in Burnley. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The school offers a nurturing and inclusive environment, where students are supported to reach their full potential, regardless of their challenges. With a strong focus on individualised learning and holistic development, the school creates a positive and engaging environment for both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to create personalised learning plans.

  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, making adjustments to teaching strategies as necessary.

  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and experience working in a primary school setting (SEN experience is desirable).

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • A passion for working with children with SEN and a commitment to making a difference.

  • A DBS check (or the willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
