 Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Position: Learning Support Assistant (Special Educational Needs)
Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Bournemouth Area
Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience

We are working with a fantastic educational provision that is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEN in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and thrive in the learning environment.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering individualised learning programs to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support, fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering feedback to teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents.
  • Build positive relationships with students, promoting their confidence, independence, and social skills.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A solid understanding of various SEN conditions, such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • The ability to adapt and work flexibly to meet the needs of the students.
  • A team player with a passion for making a positive impact on children’s lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
