Job Description:
Teaching Personnel is collaborating closely with a cluster of mainstream primary schools to provide specialized SEN and Inclusion Teaching Assistants. We are currently recruiting passionate and experienced Teaching Assistants with a strong background in supporting children with ASD and ADHD. This rewarding role will involve working directly with students, often on a 1:1 basis, to support those with autism, ADHD, and additional needs.
While the schools are mainstream, the children you will be supporting have complex, individualized needs, with some being non-verbal. The role will require sensitivity, dedication, and flexibility to provide tailored support in a dynamic classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team within the classroom, ensuring the children are well supported, engaged, and actively learning from the lessons delivered.
- Provide focused support to children with ASD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential social and academic skills.
- Understand and respond to the unique needs of children with ASD, providing a nurturing, structured environment that promotes independence and growth.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, creating a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Approach the classroom with a warm, friendly, and positive attitude, motivating and encouraging students to achieve their full potential.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a proactive, inspirational approach to supporting students' learning and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or associated learning difficulties, with a clear understanding of the needs of students on the spectrum.
- Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a classroom environment.
- A friendly, patient, and understanding approach with the ability to inspire and engage students.
- A strong commitment to building and maintaining positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Proactive, empathetic, and resourceful, with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs.

- Police clearance checks are necessary for candidates who have lived overseas for more than 6 months in the past 5 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
