SEMH Tutor – Buckinghamshire
£20–£30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Immediate Start Available

Do you have experience supporting students with anxiety, low confidence, or emotional-based school avoidance (EBSA)?
We are looking for a compassionate and committed SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Tutor to join our growing team in Buckinghamshire.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Tutor, you will work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support students who may be disengaged from mainstream education. Your role will be pivotal in building trust, boosting confidence, and helping each learner to re-engage with their education through a tailored and flexible approach.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess students’ individual needs and barriers to learning

Plan and deliver bespoke, engaging lessons that support academic progress and emotional wellbeing

Build positive and trusting relationships with students, creating a safe space to learn

Track progress and adapt your approach based on student response

Communicate regularly with schools, carers, and other professionals to ensure a joined-up approach
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, particularly anxiety, low self-esteem, or school avoidance

The ability to plan and deliver tailored schemes of work
-
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

Excellent communication skills
-
Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
