About the SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking compassionate, proactive, and motivated SEMH Teaching Assistants to become part of our expert team. In this vital role, you will support students in schools and educational provisions focused on addressing SEMH challenges, helping them break down barriers to learning and empowering them to succeed.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, enhancing their emotional resilience and self-confidence.
- Assist with implementing individualised strategies to support emotional and behavioural development.
- Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, fostering positive behaviour, emotional growth, and self-expression.
- Contribute to the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective behaviour management strategies.
What We’re Looking for in an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Prior experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly advantageous.
- You possess patience, empathy, and resilience, and have a natural ability to connect with students who require additional support.
- You are a proactive, solution-focused individual who thrives in a dynamic, inclusive educational environment.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistants:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
