Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: North West England, Lancashire, Ormskirk

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary: £12.90 - £14.50 Per hour

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Ormskirk, Lancashire. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in their educational development. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans
  • Support the class teacher in managing student behaviour
  • Help students develop social and emotional skills
  • Contribute to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Demonstrated understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
  • Experience in implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Additional training in supporting students with SEMH needs

Working Conditions:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
