Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working in educational settings and a desire to make a positive impact on young people’s lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant at a reputable secondary school in the vibrant city of Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans for students.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behavior effectively.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the holistic development of students.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional well-being of students.
Qualifications:
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
