Teaching personnel are currently working with multiple secondary SEMH schools in South Manchester to find PE teachers that can also deliver some lessons in core subjects (e.g. Maths, English and Science). We are looking for passionate teachers who are confident in delivering these subjects and managing behaviour that may be challenging from secondary aged pupils.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality PE lessons that are engaging and fun for students
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in core subjects tailored to individual need and abilities of students
  • Provide comprehensive feedback to ensure development of students
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Developing and implementing EHCPs and individual learning plans for the students you work with

For this role you should:

  • Have qualified teacher status (QTS) in PE or experience teaching PE within schools or alternative provisions
  • Be confident and experienced teaching a core subject
  • Have strong classroom management skills and experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be willing to undertake Team Teach training either before taking on the role or during the placement
  • Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding
  • Be available full time through the academic year.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
