Well, you don't need specific teaching qualifications, nor do you need experience in working in schools already. Skills can be taught but the behaviours needed for such a setting is what is really needed. Is this you?

We have taken on candidates from many varied backgrounds as there are many transferable skills from many careers. The list below is not exhaustive but gives you an idea of what kind of candidates have thrived in this setting:

  • Graduates with degrees in Art, English, Drama Sport and Psychology
  • Support workers, particularly from a mental health background
  • Sports coaches
  • Youth leaders

We are currently recruiting for two full-time teaching assistants/ SEMH Support workers to support small groups of pupils in and outside of class. You will be supported by leadership and the class teacher throughout and have access to training through our CPD academy. Students will learn life skills as well have support provided for their welfare and academic achievement. Because of this, a minimum of GCSE C or above for maths and English is required (or the equivalent).

Essentials:

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service (Or willing to apply for one through ourselves)
  • Eligible to work in the UK (right to work in the UK documentation).
  • Recent experience within an EYFS classroom is desirable but not essential
  • Level 2 Qualification or Higher in relevant area (Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Early Childhood studies, Nursery Diploma, Childcare etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
