Role: SEMH Support Staff

Location: Bedford, MK42

Job Type: Temporary - Permanent

Salary: £90 - £100 Per day

We are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant to support in a SEN Primary School based in Bedford starting in November 2024. Please see details below

This school works with Primary and Secondary pupils experiencing difficulties at their mainstream school, at risk of permanent exclusion or having been permanently excluded, or are unable to access mainstream for health reasons.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting class Senior LSA’s and Teachers with the preparation of resources to meet the personalised learning intentions of allocated students.
  • Providing 1:1 support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.
  • Work closely with class Teacher to report on progress using an evidence-based approach
  • To enable students to learn by; understanding their learning goals and targets; enable them to practice and learn new skills and challenge them to be as independent as possible
  • To be involved in the provision of all aspects of support necessary that will ensure the students wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning.
  • To understand and fully implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting would be ideal but not necessary. This role comes with additional responsibilities to that of a Teaching Assistant’s.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Initiative to take proactive actions.
  • Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
