Salary: £31,650 - £43,606 + SEN Allowance
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time (Temp to Perm)

Teaching Personnel is excited to be recruiting an experienced and passionate SEMH Food Technology Teacher for a special school in Okehampton, Devon. The school supports students with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, Autism, and other complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and dedicated teacher to make a real impact in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the Role:

As an SEN Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons to students with SEMH, Autism, and other SEN, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment. Your role will involve teaching food technology, adapting the curriculum to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities. You'll use your creativity to make practical, hands-on learning exciting and accessible for all students, while helping them develop both academic and life skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary setting.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, including SEMH, Autism, or other learning needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of how to adapt teaching strategies for students with a wide range of needs.
  • Passionate about food education and developing students' practical skills.
  • Calm, empathetic, and able to manage challenging behaviours positively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
  • Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already in place).
