Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Stafford
Contract Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: £85–£120 per day
Start Date: End of April / May

 

Role Overview:
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a forward-thinking secondary school in Stafford, seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from the end of April or early May. The school is part of a respected Multi Academy Trust and has seen great progress in recent years. With a strong focus on inclusivity, academic success, and personal development, this school provides a safe and structured environment where students are encouraged to thrive.

This role will see you working across key stages, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom. You'll be helping to deliver a rich and engaging curriculum while playing a key role in the school’s commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ learning and personal development in line with the school’s values and high expectations.

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible lessons that inspire curiosity, resilience, and independence.

  • Provide tailored support to pupils, including those with SEND or SEMH needs, helping them fully engage in lessons and school life.

  • Foster a calm, inclusive, and respectful environment where students feel supported and encouraged.

  • Promote literacy and numeracy through targeted intervention and 1:1 or small group work.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting young people in an educational, youth work, or pastoral care setting (secondary experience preferred but not essential).

  • A calm, confident, and proactive approach to supporting teenagers.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young lives.

To Be Eligible for This Role Through Teaching Personnel, You Must:

  • Have (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced child DBS certificate registered on the update service.

  • Be able to provide two professional references from the past two years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
