SEMH Secondary Teacher – Salford (M7)

The school: Teaching Personnel is working with a a well-established and highly regarded Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School located in the heart of Salford. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students facing challenges with their social, emotional, and mental well-being. The school’s dedicated staff work collaboratively to support and empower our students to reach their full potential academically and personally.

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented ECT/NQT SEN Teacher to join this committed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons to small groups of students with SEMH needs. As an ECT, you will receive excellent mentoring and support to develop your teaching skills and thrive in your new role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the school's SEN team to develop EHCPs and track students' progress.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, building positive relationships to facilitate their personal and academic growth.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support students' emotional regulation and positive social interactions.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events to contribute to the school's continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (or in the process of obtaining QTS).
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs is advantageous but not essential.
  • Passion for working with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
