Job Title: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes
Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours
Salary: £80 - £90 Per day

Job Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Provide support and guidance to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
- Help students with SEN to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement effective teaching strategies for students with SEN
- Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, providing feedback to the lead teacher and parents/guardians
- Support students with SEN during assessments and examinations, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive social interactions among students
- Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with SEN
- Perform administrative tasks related to student records, documentation, and reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Good understanding of special educational needs and the impact on learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education:
- Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent (minimum requirement)
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support learning
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Organisational and time management abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Additional training or qualifications related to special educational needs
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily carried out in a classroom setting, with some outdoor activities and off-site visits
- May involve working with students who have challenging behaviour or medical needs
- Regular interaction and collaboration with students, teaching staff, and parents/guardians
- Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday, following the school term calendar
- Temporary position, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
