About the job:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and driven candidate to join one of our partnership Secondary Schools in Newport to work as a Cover Supervisor. As a cover supervisor, you will have the opportunity and freedom to deliver lessons to pupils in the absence of a teacher but will not need to prepare your own lessons or mark work as this will be done by the teacher. This means that you are given the opportunity to experience the role of a teacher without needing any formal qualification. The successful candidate will however need to posses strong communication skills, adaptability and a passion for delivering high quality education. Role specifics:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students across various subjects and age groups.
  • Strong classroom behaviour management skills
  • The ability to maintain discipline in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity and consistency in educational delivery.
  • Be a professional role model, while managing students’ behaviours and focus within the lesson to create a positive learning environment.
  • Effective time management and communication skills
