Secondary Learning Mentor – Brighton

Location: Brighton
Salary: £90 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: Immediate

The Role:


Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a thriving secondary school in Brighton. This role involves working closely with students who require additional support, helping them to engage in their learning and reach their full potential.

You will:

  • Support students with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to adapt lesson materials.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Foster students’ confidence, resilience, and independence.

This well-established secondary school has been at the heart of the community for over 60 years, growing from 600 students to over 1,300 today. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including large sports fields, tennis courts, and a dedicated sports centre that serves both students and the wider community.

Students are supported to achieve their full potential through tailored academic pathways and a diverse range of extra-curricular activities.

  • Experience working with secondary-age students, particularly those with SEN.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a confident and proactive approach.
  • A passion for education and supporting young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
