Secondary Cover Supervisor
Cardiff
Pay starting from £100 per day
We are partnering with a secondary school in Cardiff to recruit cover supervisors. This role involves delivering pre-planned lessons across the school to support teacher absences or PPA cover. We are looking for motivated and confident individuals with previous experience in education or similar roles, such as coaching, where they have led groups of students.
Subject specialisms, such as maths or PE, may be preferred when specific lessons require coverage. If you have relevant experience or a strong educational background in a particular subject, please let us know. We are also keen to hear from HLTAs or teaching assistants looking to progress into a cover supervisor role. Training, including Behaviour Management modules, is available to ensure you feel confident in the classroom.
The successful applicant will be:
- Confident and enthusiastic
- Has a passion for teaching and supporting young people
- Ability to slot into new environments with ease
- Experience within relevant fields (coaching, tutoring, lecturing etc)
- Comfortable covering a range of subjects using preplanned work
- Be prepared to work on short notice
- Confident using a range of behaviour management techniques to fit in line with schools’ policies
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on Update Service- we can assist with the application process
- Registration to the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
- Safeguarding training- Provided by Teaching Personnel
- Able to provide references from at least the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
