SEBD Support Assistant (Primary School)
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEBD Support Assistant to join our nurturing primary school team. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who present with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing targeted support to help them thrive in a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
You will

Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who need additional emotional and behavioural support.

Implement individual behaviour plans and strategies, in collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.

Foster positive relationships to help build pupils' confidence, resilience and social skills.

Support teachers in managing challenging behaviour and promoting a calm classroom environment.

Monitor and record pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents/carers.

Help promote the school’s ethos of inclusion, respect and high expectations for all learners.
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children with SEBD or similar needs, ideally in a school or care setting.

Is calm, empathetic and patient, with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

Has strong behaviour management skills and a good understanding of safeguarding procedures.

Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
-
Has relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support, education or child development (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
