Science Laboratory Technician

 

Full Time

Salary negotiable on experience

 

We are currently looking to appoint a Full Time Science Technician, to cover a long-term sickness in Sheffield. The school are looking for a new member of their Science Department to support with practical lessons, preparation of classrooms/exams, maintenance of chemicals/equipment and general subject support for students and staff.

 

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, during term time.

 

The school are looking for candidates with qualifications and/or experience in similar Science or laboratory-related positions; as well as excellent communication skills and a strong interest in science/science-related fields to support their department. Applicants must have excellent knowledge of health and safety and be confident overseeing the storage and maintenance of apparatus and scientific equipment.

 

Duties to include:

  • Setting up classrooms and laboratories with necessary equipment
  • Maintaining and repairing scientific equipment
  • Assisting teachers with practical demonstrations
  • Supporting staff and students within the department
  • Organise, reorder and safely store chemicals
  • Maintain strict health & safety conditions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
