Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Science Graduate to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a Teaching Assistant.
Have you recently graduated in a science-based subject and are looking to start a career in education?
This position would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a school, before going onto become a fully qualified teacher.
The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week.
Throughout your employment, you will be supported by Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading Teacher Recruitment Agency. For the right candidate, there will be the potential to progress onto permanent teacher positions once you have become fully qualified.
As a teaching assistant, you will predominantly be responsible for assisting the teacher in their delivery of lessons, by working closely with pupils who are struggling the most academically. You will assist pupils with their learning by working in small groups to ensure that the pupils have gained a proper understanding of the lesson. You should be able to build relationships with the pupils, so they are comfortable asking any questions to develop their understanding. At times, you will be required to accompany the teacher on external trips.
For this position:
- You must be able to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check.
- You must be able to provide at least two employment-based references, covering the last two years of employment.
- You must have a good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
This school is located in central Manchester. It currently has a ‘good’ Ofsted rating, making it the ideal environment to gain experience. The school is in a disadvantaged area, 60% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, this is over double the national average. Currently 35% of pupils leave year 11 having achieved a grade 5 in both Maths and English, this is significantly lower than the national average. Therefore, this position will be challenging but rewarding as you deal with difficult behaviour and support pupils.
If you are interested in this position, please apply now by uploading a copy of your CV.
