Job Opportunity: Science Teacher – KS3 & KS4
Location: Weymouth
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: Paid to Scale, Dependent on Experience

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a talented Science Teacher to work in a well-regarded Secondary School in Weymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on students’ learning in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) science classrooms.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for teaching KS3 and KS4 students in one or more of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students, helping them to develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Support students in preparing for their GCSE exams, using tailored strategies and interventions where needed.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom behavior and encouraging student engagement.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to contribute to the development of the science curriculum.
  • Potential to work across different schools depending on your preferences and availability.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (including preparing students for GCSE exams).
  • A passion for inspiring students and helping them succeed in science.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
