About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position, starting after February half term, offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Science department.

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for the subject. You will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress, helping them develop their understanding of scientific concepts and investigative skills.

The pay for this role will be in line with your payscale, reflective of your experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and informative Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across a range of abilities, using a variety of teaching methods to ensure effective learning.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress, setting high expectations to drive achievement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to develop a passion for Science.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE examinations, helping them develop analytical and practical skills.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including involvement in extracurricular Science activities or clubs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • A commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a culture of academic success.
