Science Teacher – Permanent Role in Sheffield (S10)

A highly regarded secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who is passionate about science and dedicated to inspiring young minds through engaging and innovative teaching.

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and well-resourced science department, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is committed to fostering a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, and develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Science lessons tailored to students of varying abilities
  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to ensure all students achieve their full potential
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and additional support where needed
  • Encourage curiosity and independent thinking through interactive and hands-on learning
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic progress
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 (ability to teach A-Level is an advantage)
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make science engaging and accessible
  • Excellent classroom management skills with a commitment to high standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • A proactive approach to professional development and school improvement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
