Science Teacher

Location: Manchester Catholic Secondary School
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2025

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join the faculty at this well-regarded secondary school. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education, inspiring curiosity, and promoting scientific literacy across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated science lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing targeted support where needed.

  • Contribute to the development of the science department’s curriculum and resources.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning.

  • Participate in school-wide activities, including extracurricular programs and enrichment opportunities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching science at the secondary level, with a track record of strong student outcomes.

  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • A commitment to upholding the school’s Catholic ethos while fostering an inclusive environment for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
