Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Science teacher looking for a great opportunity? A thriving secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a full-time Science teacher to join their team from January until July which the potential to extend. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the success of a dynamic school community and inspire the next generation of scientists. 

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective Science lessons to Key Stage 3 students, ensuring they develop a strong foundation in the subject. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and Delivery: Designing creative and stimulating lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and inspire curiosity in Science.
  • Teaching and Classroom Management: Delivering high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of all students, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assessment and Marking: Regularly assessing students’ work, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their academic progress.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues in the Science department to share resources and best practices.
  • Engagement: Encouraging students to develop a passion for Science through interactive experiments, discussions, and activities.

 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching Science and have the skills and qualifications needed to excel in this role. You must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Science at Key Stage 3 level.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
  • Commitment to Excellence: A desire to inspire students and help them achieve their full potential.
  • Organisational Skills: The ability to plan, teach, and mark effectively within a structured framework.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and contributing to the school’s ethos.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
