Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a mixed all-through school in Portsmouth with students from ages 4 to 16. The school underwent significant redevelopment, with a new building completed in 2021. They emphasise a strong community spirit, high academic standards and a supportive environment. The school offers a broad curriculum, including performing arts, and has a house system with houses named after historic British ships.

 

If you are a passionate Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity, the school are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their dedicated team full-time from January. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge students in a school that values academic excellence and holistic development.

 

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and dynamic lessons, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their learning.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of teaching resources.
  • Attend staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development sessions.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential by fostering a love of Science and encouraging critical thinking.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across a range of abilities.
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Show a willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Uphold the school's values and ethos, contributing to its inclusive and supportive community.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3.
  • A proven track record of effective teaching and raising student attainment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a passion for education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
