Science Teacher – Permanent Role in Nottingham (NG5)
A well-regarded secondary school in Nottingham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for science and ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and high-performing science department, delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The school values innovation in teaching and encourages staff to bring creative approaches to the curriculum, helping students develop scientific curiosity and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Inspire students with a passion for science, encouraging inquiry-based learning and practical investigation
- Assess and track student progress, using data to inform lesson planning and provide targeted support
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, engagement, and academic success
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies
- Contribute to extracurricular science activities, such as STEM clubs, competitions, and educational trips
- Engage with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and attainment
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 (experience with A-Level Science is desirable but not essential)
- A strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
- A commitment to continuous professional development and school improvement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
