Science Teacher – High School in Manchester

The PWR team at Teaching Personnel are working with an Ofsted-graded ‘Good’ high school in Manchester to recruit a dynamic and dedicated Science Teacher for a permanent role starting in September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that values innovation in teaching, academic excellence, and student engagement in STEM subjects.

The school has a well-resourced Science department with modern laboratories and a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning. With a supportive leadership team and a collaborative teaching environment, this role would suit an ambitious teacher eager to inspire students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Details:

  • Location: Manchester
  • Start Date: September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate)
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (Potential TLR for the right candidate)

The Role:

  • Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level for experienced candidates
  • Delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for scientific discovery
  • Supporting students in their GCSE and A-Level exam preparation through structured intervention and enrichment activities
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and improve curriculum delivery
  • Contributing to the wider school community, including extracurricular STEM clubs, science fairs, and educational trips

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Science at secondary level, ideally with GCSE and/or A-Level experience
  • Be passionate about delivering high-quality Science education and fostering scientific inquiry
  • Have strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
