Science Teacher (Key Stage 3) – Alternative Provision School, Liverpool (Full-Time)

This Alternative Provision School in Liverpool provides a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Many of their students have complex needs and require a tailored approach to learning. The school is committed to helping them develop both academically and personally, offering essential emotional and educational support to help them thrive.
The Role:
They are seeking a confident, resilient, and committed Science teacher to teach Key Stage 3. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons to students who may present challenging behaviours or have additional learning needs. The role requires a teacher who can form strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel safe and motivated in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for Key Stage 3, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Manage challenging behaviour effectively while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Foster strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their academic and personal growth.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to support students' social and emotional development.
- Contribute to the overall success and progress of the school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Science, ideally at Key Stage 3.
- Previous experience supporting students with EHCPs or those who have struggled in mainstream education.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle challenging behaviour.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
