Science Teacher (Key Stage 3) – Alternative Provision School, Liverpool

This Alternative Provision School in Liverpool provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school is committed to helping students who face complex needs and difficulties in mainstream education to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through tailored learning experiences and focused support.
The Role:
As a Science teacher for Key Stage 3, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons that inspire students to enjoy learning while addressing their individual needs. Many students may exhibit challenging behavior or require additional support, so a patient, resilient, and compassionate approach is essential. Building trust and creating a positive learning atmosphere will be central to your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Science lessons tailored to Key Stage 3, adapting content to meet diverse needs.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment, managing behavior effectively.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, encouraging them to feel safe and motivated.
- Support students’ emotional and social development through collaboration with staff and external agencies.
- Contribute to the wider school community and its mission to support every child’s growth and achievement.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science, ideally at Key Stage 3.
- Previous work with students who have struggled in mainstream settings or have EHCPs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle challenging behavior.
- A compassionate, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
