Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Science Graduate to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a Teaching Assistant. This position will be full-time, starting in September at the start of the academic year.
The salary for this position will be £420 to £450 per week.
Our client school is currently looking or a Science Graduate, who is looking to start a career in education, to join their science department as a Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will have a vast knowledge into the sciences and a strong interest in teaching. Your main responsibility will be to support the teacher in the delivery of their lessons by working alongside a smaller group of children or on a 1:1 basis to help those pupils who are struggling the most.
Key responsibilities:
- Working alongside the teacher to ensure that there is a safe and productive learning environment.
- Monitoring the performance of the students and giving feedback to the teacher as well and the pupil and their parents.
- Assisting the teacher on any external visits
- Preparing the classroom for any laboratory experiments and ensuring that they are completed in a safe manner.
The school is located in Manchester and is easily commutable from areas such as Moss side, Rusholme, Longsight and Whalley Range.
The highlight of this position is that as you develop your skills in a classroom environment, you will be supported by both Teaching Personnel and the school. For the right candidate, there will be the potential to gain further training, leading to a permanent position once you are qualified. The position will also be highly rewarding, as you will be working alongside disadvantaged children, many of whom will be struggling academically.
For this position, it is essential that you are a Science Graduate, looking to start a career in education. You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide two employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
