Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Science Graduate join one of our client schools in Glossop as a Teaching Assistant. This position will be full-time, starting in after the February Half-Term.
The salary for this position will be £420 to £450 per week.
Our client school is currently looking for a recent science graduate to join their Science Department and a Teaching Assistant. This position would be ideal for a recent graduate, looking to start a career in education. The main responsibility of this position will be to work alongside smaller groups of children or on a 1 to 1 basis. The children you will be working with most closely will be struggling more than their peers and will need additional support.
Key responsibilities:
- You must be fully aware of all safeguarding procedures, and deal with any situations that may occur.
- You must ensure that the classroom is always a safe learning environment, especially during any practical experiments.
- You must be able to build relationships with pupils to support them in their learning development.
- You must be able to monitor the progression of pupils, giving feedback to the students, parents, and the teachers.
This school is located in Glossop, it is easy commutable to from the surrounding areas on public transport.

You will be working alongside children who are struggling academically; therefore, this position has the potential to be highly rewarding. For the right candidate, there is the potential to gain further training, leading to a permanent position when you are fully qualified.
For this position, you must be a recent science graduate, looking to start a career in education. You must have a good understanding of science. You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check and be able to provide at least two employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
