Job Advert: Administrative Assistant
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Start Date: April 2025 or sooner
Salary: ALT Grade D 8-11 - £11,385.76 - £11,656.54 Actual Salary
Position: Permanent, Part-time (Monday - Friday 8:45am - 12:45pm)
A highly reputable and growing primary school in Ely, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated and efficient Administrative Assistant to join their permanent staff from April 2025 or sooner. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the school's administration and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support to school leadership and staff.
- Manage and maintain filing systems, both physical and digital.
- Assist with the preparation of communications and correspondence.
- Support with the coordination of meetings and events.
- Handle general inquiries from parents, students, and visitors.
- Maintain school records, including student data and staff information.
- Assist in managing school resources and supplies.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
- A friendly and professional manner when interacting with students, staff, and parents.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a school environment or familiarity with school-based administration.
- Knowledge of SIMS (School Information Management System) or similar software.
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
