Are you a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies teacher looking to inspire and educate young minds? A well-established coeducational secondary school in Gosport is seeking a talented Religious Studies teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. This school caters to students aged 11 to 18 and offers a diverse curriculum, supported by a strong student-teacher ratio of 13:1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons that encourage critical thinking and respect for different beliefs.
  • Teach students across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5, following the school’s curriculum and exam board specifications.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and can express their views respectfully.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Promote moral, spiritual, and ethical discussions within the classroom, helping students develop their understanding of religious and philosophical concepts.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Religious Studies curriculum and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Engage in pastoral responsibilities, including mentoring students and supporting their well-being.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

 

Requirements & Expectations:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level, including GCSE and A-Level (desirable).
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to bring Religious Studies to life through engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Willingness to contribute to the school’s extracurricular and pastoral programs.
