A mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a qualified Religious Studies Teacher to join their team from April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and fostering a deep understanding of religious and ethical issues among students.
The Role:
As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students across a range of abilities. You will help them develop critical thinking skills, explore diverse world religions, and deepen their understanding of moral and philosophical topics. This is a full-time, permanent position with a strong focus on both academic excellence and student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons in Religious Studies to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
- Prepare and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback
- Contribute to the development of the Religious Studies curriculum
- Support students in their personal, social, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the teaching and learning environment
- Ensure the effective use of resources and teaching strategies
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of the Religious Studies curriculum and ability to teach across Key Stage 3 and 4
- Passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, approachable, and dedicated to supporting students' growth
- Previous teaching experience is desirable, but newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply
