Religious Education Teacher – Stockport (Maternity Cover, Easter Start)

Location: Stockport
Start Date: Easter 2025
Pay Rate: £140 - £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Maternity cover (full-time, likely until the end of the academic year)

A high-achieving secondary school in Stockport is looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Religious Education Teacher to cover a maternity leave from Easter 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students through thought-provoking discussions on ethics, philosophy, and world religions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging RE Lessons: Teach across Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4, fostering critical thinking and debate.

  • Assess & Monitor Student Progress: Provide constructive feedback to support student development.

  • Promote Religious & Cultural Understanding: Encourage respect and appreciation for different beliefs and traditions.

  • Support Whole-School Initiatives: Participate in assemblies, clubs, and themed cultural events.

  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work within the humanities department to ensure high-quality teaching.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching Religious Education at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4.

  • A passion for the subject and the ability to engage and inspire students.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

This role is ideal for: an experienced RE teacher seeking a long-term placement or an ECT (Early Career Teacher) looking for an opportunity in a supportive school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
