Job description

Religious Education (RE) Teacher – Full-Time – September Start – Levenshulme, Manchester

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate RE Teacher to join the humanities faculty of a well-respected, Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme, Manchester. This is a full-time position beginning in September to cover a long-term absence. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, diverse student body, and commitment to academic excellence. Pay will be in line with your teaching scale and level of experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons that promote critical thinking and cultural awareness

  • Plan, assess and report on students’ progress in line with school policies

  • Encourage respectful discussion of philosophical, ethical, and religious topics

  • Support the personal development of students through spiritual, moral, social and cultural education

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and the Humanities department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK teaching qualification

  • Have experience teaching RE or a related humanities subject in a secondary school

  • Be passionate about encouraging young people to explore different beliefs and values

  • Be able to build positive relationships with students of all backgrounds

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
