Position: Pupil Support Worker
Location: Secondary Specialist School (Ages 11–18)
Pay: £85 per day
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, Term-time only
Contract: Temp-to-Perm

The Opportunity

  • As a 1:1 Pupil Support Worker, you will connect directly with children and young people, supporting them to succeed in their education.
  • You will guide each pupil’s learning journey, helping them to unlock their full potential.
  • You will prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, providing hands-on experience while working under some supervision.
  • You will take responsibility for both the emotional and physical needs of the pupils.
  • Supporting children with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop as individuals, is at the core of the role.
  • Your work will have a direct, positive impact on the pupils’ development and educational experience.
  • You will contribute to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where each child can thrive.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Individuals who are eager to support vulnerable children and young people.
  • Experience in hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres, or office-based roles is beneficial but not essential.
  • You should have a passion for making a difference and helping others, especially those with emotional or mental health needs.
  • No prior experience in education is required - training will be provided.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience are key qualities needed for the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
