Pupil Referral Unit Teaching Assistant
Are you looking for a new challenge supporting children and young people with behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health needs?
Would you like to be part of helping change the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds?
I am working with a PRU (pupil referral unit) in Burnley that is seeking passionate resilient learning support assistant to join their team in February. The school offers education to students aged 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream education due to their behaviours that challenge. The class sizes are reduced to enable the children to be supported holistically and to meet all their individual needs. The applicant may be required to work on a 1:1 basis with the children.
Requirements
- Professional or personal experience of supporting with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
- A passion for working with SEND is essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
