Job Description: Primary Supply Teacher

Location: England, South East England, East Sussex

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £120.00 - £130.00 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to primary school students in the absence of regular classroom teachers
  • Follow the provided lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Provide individualised support to students as needed
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with primary school students
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and work with diverse student populations
  • Effective classroom management skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of primary education principles and practises
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans
  • Proficient in using educational technology and resources
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or training in specific areas of primary education
  • Experience working as a supply teacher or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and strategies for inclusion

Working Conditions:

  • Work in various primary schools within the designated area
  • Part-time hours with flexibility in scheduling
  • Interact with students, teachers, and other school staff
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
