Job description

A highly regarded primary school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join their team in September 2025. In this rewarding role, you will work with children who have a wide range of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and speech and language difficulties. Your role will involve developing and implementing tailored learning plans that meet the individual needs of each student, helping them reach their full potential in both academic and social contexts.

You will work closely with the SENCO and other teaching staff to ensure that children receive the necessary support and guidance. This will involve planning and delivering lessons that are differentiated, using a variety of teaching methods to support the diverse learning needs of your students. The role also includes monitoring progress, maintaining detailed records, and communicating regularly with parents to provide updates on student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering individual learning plans for students with SEN

  • Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom

  • Collaborating with teaching assistants and other staff members to ensure students’ needs are met

  • Maintaining up-to-date records of student progress and achievements

  • Communicating with parents and guardians to ensure continuous support for students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
