Job Title: Play Therapist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Play Therapist to join our team in Richmond, Greater London. As a Play Therapist, you will be responsible for working with SEN pupils, providing therapeutic support through play-based activities. Your role will involve developing and implementing tailored play therapy sessions to help children overcome emotional, behavioural, or psychological challenges.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct play therapy sessions with SEN pupils
  • Create individualised treatment plans
  • Monitor and assess progress
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Play Therapy
  • Registration with a recognised therapy body
  • Experience working with SEN pupils

Education:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field

Experience:

Previous experience in play therapy or child psychology

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of child development and psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Empathy and patience

Working Conditions:

This position is part-time, expected to work flexible hours. The work environment may involve interacting with children with special needs and collaborating with educational professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
