Physics Teacher

Location: Middlesbrough
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: £30,000- £49,084 per year


About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Physics Teacher to join our secondary school team in Middlesbrough. If you are a skilled communicator with a love for science, this is your chance to inspire and engage students in one of the most exciting fields of study. You will have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of students, helping them to understand and explore the principles of Physics, from the basics to the cutting-edge developments in the field.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality Physics lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Student Engagement: Inspire students through innovative and interactive lessons that encourage scientific inquiry
  • Assessment: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to guide improvement
  • Experimentation: Promote hands-on learning with practical experiments to bring theoretical concepts to life
  • Support: Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, providing additional support where needed
  • Extra-Curricular: Engage with students outside of the classroom through science clubs, competitions, and other events
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to support overall student success

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong background in Physics with a passion for teaching
  • Experience: Experience teaching Physics at the secondary school level is preferred; NQTs are also encouraged to apply
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • Approach: Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Commitment: Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with subject knowledge
  • References: Proivde at least two professional employment references
  • DBS: have an enchanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
