Position: Phonics Support Assistant
Location: Across Wakefield

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dynamic Phonics Support Intervention Teacher to join our team and make a difference in the educational journey of students across Wakefield.

Role Overview: As a Phonics Support Intervention Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting literacy development among students who may require additional support in phonics. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping students build strong foundational reading and writing skills, ensuring they are equipped for success in their academic pursuits.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted phonics intervention sessions to small groups of students.
  • Assess students' phonics abilities and identify areas of improvement.
  • Develop customized intervention plans based on individual student needs.
  • Utilize a variety of engaging teaching methods to enhance phonics understanding.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with curriculum goals.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Provide regular feedback to school staff and parents on students' phonics development.
  • Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and student outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of phonics instruction methods and strategies.
  • Experience working with students who require additional learning support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to tailor interventions to meet diverse student needs.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with effective time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different schools in the Wakefield area.
