PE Teacher – High School in Blackburn
The PWR team at Teaching Personnel are working with an Ofsted-graded ‘Good’ high school in Blackburn to recruit a dedicated and passionate PE Teacher for a permanent role starting in September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate). This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that values physical education and promotes a culture of health, teamwork, and resilience among its students.
The school boasts excellent sports facilities, including a modern gym, playing fields, and a strong extracurricular sports programme. The successful candidate will be joining a committed PE department that actively encourages student participation in a wide range of sporting activities.
Key Details:
- Location: Blackburn
- Start Date: September 2025 (or Easter for the right candidate)
- Salary: MPS/UPS (Potential TLR for the right candidate)
The Role:
- Teaching PE across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to deliver BTEC Sport or A-Level PE for experienced candidates
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-energy lessons that promote a love for sport and physical activity
- Encouraging participation in extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and school competitions
- Supporting students of all abilities, including those aiming for high-level competitive sports and those focusing on general fitness and well-being
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop a dynamic and inclusive PE curriculum
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching PE at secondary level, ideally with GCSE and/or BTEC experience
- Be passionate about promoting physical health and teamwork among students
- Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to motivate students of all abilities
- Be committed to extracurricular activities and willing to contribute to the wider school sports programme

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
