Position: Pastoral Lead
Location: Birmingham, Moseley
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Immediate Start

The Role:

As the Pastoral Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being and safeguarding of students across the school. You will work closely with staff, students, and external agencies to provide targeted support, offer guidance, and promote a positive school culture that prioritizes student welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the school’s pastoral care strategy.
  • Provide support and guidance to students dealing with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Monitor student well-being and manage safeguarding concerns in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Develop and lead pastoral programs that enhance students’ social and emotional development.
  • Promote a positive school environment through the implementation of effective behavior management strategies.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, fostering resilience and positive mental health among students.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or welfare role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A compassionate, empathetic approach with a passion for supporting young people.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An ability to lead and inspire staff and students, promoting a culture of well-being and inclusion.
  • Experience in pastoral care, student welfare, or related roles.
  • Additional safeguarding training or certification is highly desirable.
