Part Time Teaching Assistant

About the School
A friendly and welcoming village school based near Nailsea is looking for a part time teaching assistant to join them from January 2025 until the end of the academic year. This is a two form entry junior school which is a part of a very successful, local academy trust. Whilst keeping high expectations of its pupils, it also priorities their well being by creating a nurturing environment. They had a "good" rating in their most recent OFSTED where the school was praised on the impressive progress that all pupils manage to make across key stage 2.
About the Role
You will be working part time with the working hours of 8.30am until 12.30pm Monday-Thursday with full time hours on a Friday. The role will involve of working with a pupil in year 4 who has social and emotional needs and requires support on an individual basis. You will be delivering the curriculum that has already been pre planned by the class teacher but also scaffolding the content to the child to ensure that they are engaged.
Job Duties
- Being proactive in supporting children with SEND,
- Having a good level of patience and resilience,
- Supporting with providing teaching resources and being able to interpret plans.
- Promoting activities to aid natural curiosity and knowledge
- Supporting children with interventions.
What you need to apply:
- Prior experience of working with children isn't necessary but you need to demonstrate genuine passion,
- Prior experience in schools is desirable but not essential,
- Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service (we can assist with application)
- Legal right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
